PANBEX® F3

PANBEX ® F3 is a pre-mixed cement fireproof powder mixture containing sorted hard fillers based on non-oxidizing metals, special cements, and compatible chemical ingredients. It is used to build a highly resistant surface of concrete monolithic floors. Immediately after the usual treatment of the supporting slab concrete, pour PANBEX® F3 onto the freshly laid concrete mix. Smooth repeatedly in order to obtain a highly-resistant and smooth, naturally anti-skid surface. Such a treading layer provides increased resistance against fat and oil penetration. Floors with PANBEX®F3 surface finish are used in storage areas, factory workshops, wholesaling, and anywhere where a flooring system with an extremely durable surface is required.

SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • extreme operational load resistance
  • dust-free
  • reasonable price
  • fast application
  • guaranteed quality – production outside of the construction site
  • no maintenance required

QUALITY REQUIREMENTS

To obtain a comprehensive high-quality floor, cooperation between the project designer, the investor and the building contractor is vital.
Below are the aspects each of them influences:

INVESTOR:

1. Correct specification of the type of facility operation
2. Requirements for special loads (equipment installation, etc.)
3. Determination of the mechanical, chemical, and thermal influences (vibration, pulsation, local overload, extreme fatigue of selected corridors, etc.)

PROJECT DESIGNER:

1. Structural design of the supporting slab while considering all the factors

  • character of the specified load
  • expansion joints

Selection of adequate treading layer

BUILDING CONTRACTOR:

1. Verification of the data concerning the quality of the foundation and the concrete
2. Adherence to the concreting technology (boarding, compaction, placement of conventional reinforcement, required flatness...)
3. Ensuring a clean working environment (within a single work cycle, the concreting process is followed immediately by the final finish of the treading layer)
4. Evenness of the filling (preparation of the correct amount per relevant area)
5. Determination of the start of each technological operation
6. Experience of the roto-trowel personnel
7. Carefulness during the manual finishing of details (edges of working areas, columns outlines, etc.)
8. Securing the floor surface against the rapid evaporation of water from the surface of a freshly laid slab with a filling
9. Correct selection of the location and design of joints, attention to details – respecting the designer’s materials (change in the thickness of the supporting slab, area around the foundation footing, passages, thresholds, etc.)

OPERATION MANUAL

Pour PANBEX®F3 on a freshly laid concrete slab in one or two steps in the total amount of 5 kg/m² and smooth it. For smaller load use PANBEX® F1 or F2. Immediately after removing the residue water, evenly pour in the first half of the specified amount of mixture (2.5 kg/m²) and smooth with manual trowels into the surface. Do the same with the other half of the mixture directly after you have finished with the first one. Use a roto-trowel to acquire the final mechanical finish of the surface. Repeat the smoothing process several times as the concrete slab gradual hardens. Treat and seal the freshly finished floor with e.g. PANBEXIL® or any other PANBEX® sealing coating (SURFIXIL, REFLEXIL, ENVIXIL, AQUAXIL) in the standard amount of 0.10 -0.20 l/m². This clear solution provides the surface with sufficient hardening, dust-free quality, and moreover, it decreases natural absorptivity. Contraction joints are formed within two days. Expansion joints are reflected in the floor surface. Fine micro-cracks might appear in the floor – this is due to the repeated mechanical smoothing, which creates tension on the surface. This side-effect is typical for concrete mechanically smoothed surfaces and does not negatively affect the utility properties of the floor.
